David Burnett, farmer and jack-of-all-trades, embodies the self-sufficiency and hospitality characteristic of an earlier generation.\u00a0 Burnett\u2019s family has lived in a cove outside of Canton, NC since the 1870s and has continued a tradition of working the land using old-fashioned methods for survival.
