Might Not Be NASCAR

By Taylor Mabrey

Racing is a family affair, at least for the Carroll family. Since the age of nine, Justin and his parents, Susan and John, have been working together as a family and a racing team for 13 years now.

When he isn’t out on the track on weekends, he’s working on race cars for other drivers. In one of his earlier Late Model races, Carroll was spun out by the car in second place which led another car to hit him and his car caught fire.

His mother Susan struggled with the fact that he still wanted to race after that, but she eventually was back on the track with him because she knew he was born to race. The sport is difficult to move forward in at his level, but he continues to keep his head up despite the obstacles in his way.
