Tierra Fértil

Delia Jovel — an immigrant from El Salvador — is the founder of Tierra Fertíl Co-op, an organization that strives to foster change in her community through sustainable farming practices. Jovel draws inspiration from her daughter, who was born with spina bifida, and has goals to transcend the traditional model of agriculture in western North Carolina, and the entire country. Through connecting deeply with her community and building up her people, Jovel has created a truly inspiring initiative.
