“Stories from the Crystal Coast” explores the rich culture of North Carolina’s southern Outer Banks where, for centuries, the unique geography and rich resources of land and sea have drawn larger-than-life characters. The site is the end product of the third annual Carolina Photojournalism Workshop, an intensive, six-day photojournalism and multimedia workshop. Six of the region’s best professional photojournalists and multimedia producers coached fifteen students from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to produce stories that explore the area’s richness—and share it with you.
