Project Description

Duck Man

By Aubrey Patti

Jack Cox spent most of his life working to master the art of duck decoy carving. Duck decoys are carved wooden ducks, traditionally used to attract ducks while hunting. Jack’s carvings evolved into beautiful collectables that are showcased in homes and museums, with a large following and culture.

As an avid duck hunter, Jack was inspired by duck decoy carvers at shows and his own personal connection to ducks. Now, he holds his own in carving world championships, frequently bringing home awards. He even has his own following of collectors. However, Jack doesn’t own a single duck he’s carved, and has never been completely satisfied with his work. He is driven to keep getting better and won’t stop until he carves the perfect duck.

“If you don’t keep going, you don’t have a pulse.” – Jack Cox
