Ruth Morgan has dedicated her life to theatre, performing on stage, creating costumes, and managing productions at Littleton’s Lakeland Theatre. But beneath the glittering surface, she’s been struggling with a thirty year battle with cancer. Being on stage allows Ruth to enter a new world, free of medication, doctor visits, and scans. “When I’m on stage, I’m immersed in that moment, in that play, in that character. I don’t see the people out front. I don’t feel the stomach ache that I had on stage. You’re just in a whole different world,” says Ruth. This experimental documentary explores Ruth’s journey between those two worlds through a staged performance at the Lakeland theatre and veritae moments at home.
