Highlands and the surrounding area is known for its beauty and tranquility. Also know “The Land of the Waterfalls, Highlands boasts some of the most beautiful natural waterfalls in North Carolina, all a short trip from Main Street downtown. Dry Falls is a 70-80 foot waterfall that you can walk under without getting wet. Glen Falls has 3 cascades of 60-65 feet each visible by a steep mountain trail–cool anytime of the year! Lower Cullasaja Falls drops 250 feet and is visible from scenic Highway 64. Whitewater Falls has a 411 foot drop and is known as the “King of all Southeastern Waterfalls.”
