Jake Rider, manager at the Chopping Block in Cashiers, N.C., and his girlfriend have had a new baby and the 27 year old is starting to build his family. Bruce Cain, owner of the Chopping Block, has given Rider responsibilities and has taken extraordinary steps to ensure his transition into family man is successful. This winter Cain kept the butcher shop open at his own financial risk so that Jake could maintain support for his budding family. He is ready, the second time around, to make sure that he creates a solid base for his family and that his family remains his top priority.
