Myrtle Beach, often called “The Golf Capital of the World,” has over 100 golf courses in and around the Myrtle Beach area. Northern retirees and tourists alike make up much of the golf culture surrounding the city. Myrtle Beach became a critical part of golf culture in the 1990’s and has since been booming. Golf has also been a strong driving force of tourism in Brunswick County since its popularity began, making it “The Golf Coast.” Because of the “reasonable prices and beautiful courses” people come from all over the world to play in “The Golf Mecca.”
“Myrtle Beach is not only for golfers, it’s for everyone else.”
